A Family Home Designed Around Culture, Comfort, and a Beautiful Mix

When the family reached out, they had a clear picture of what they wanted. They were ready to make their home truly feel like theirs — warm, functional, and rooted in the Indian culture they'd brought with them. They had artwork they loved, pieces collected over the years that mattered to them. They didn't want a home that looked entirely Indian — but they wanted one where that heritage was genuinely present. Woven in, not announced.

The project touched every main living space. The formal living room, dining room, and entry — with their gracious high ceilings — received new furnishings, lighting, and carefully layered accents. The family room had an awkward corner where the existing TV placement had never quite worked. We reconfigured it — moving the TV to mount cleanly above the fireplace panel — and used that opportunity to build custom temple cabinetry: a beautifully detailed, purpose-built Puja space with thoughtful storage, designed to be both functional for daily rituals and a meaningful presence in the room. Millwork and wall coverings added architectural depth throughout.

Their existing Indian artwork became part of the design's foundation — arranged and anchored so that the rooms were built around those pieces, not placed after them. Color carried the cultural thread: crimson, cobalt, and gold — drawn from Indian textile and temple tradition — flow through the upholstery, drapery, and accents. Organic elements bring in nature and calm.

The result is family-friendly and functional every day. And quietly, unmistakably rooted in where this family comes from.
