Where Beauty and Function Found Each Other
Saratoga, CA
They'd found the house. The neighborhood was right, the layout worked, the potential was obvious. What was missing was the home itself — the feeling that this beautiful space actually belonged to them.
The challenge wasn't one of taste. It was two of them. One had a strong eye for aesthetics and was drawn to the high-tech side of things — smart window treatments, design-forward details, everything intentional. The other wanted above all to feel comfortable — a home that was easy to live in and easy to love. Getting both of those voices into the same design felt daunting. The choices were endless. So they called Raashi Design.
The scope covered the whole home — five rooms and the outdoor spaces. The brief was warm and personal, with subtle ethnic touches that felt woven in rather than added on. Quality mattered. Comfort mattered. And smart, functional details were part of the picture from the start.
We designed a home that spoke to both of them. Neutral, comfortable furnishings set a calm foundation — sofas and textiles in warm creams that invite you to stay. Against the home's existing architecture, richer accents told the more personal story: terracotta pillows, sculptural side tables, bold abstract art, and jewel-toned bedrooms in deep periwinkle and teal. Contemporary furniture and motorized window treatments kept everything current and effortless to live in.
The ethnic touches don't announce themselves. They show up in the warmth of the palette, in the artisanal quality of certain pieces, in the way pattern and texture layer quietly. This is a home that reflects where the clients come from — without making it the only thing you see.
Every room was designed as part of a whole, presented together, approved as one complete vision. The result is the kind of cohesion you feel before you can explain it.
They'd started the process nervous and overwhelmed. They ended it proud of every room. Their guests agreed.
Before Images
It’s so fun to go back and see what a space looked like before work had begun. The changes can be so dramatic, sometimes it doesn’t even seem like it is the same room!
"Every room feels like a work of art, striking the perfect balance between classic charm and modern elegance. Raashi Design's attention to detail is second to none, resulting in a space that is not only visually stunning but also highly functional for our daily living. We have received a lot of compliments from our friends and guests on the new interiors."
